For a swim, head to the southeastern part of the island to the area of Vasilikos. Here you will find the sandy and organized beaches of Dafni and Gerakas. The coasts are protected by the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, which protects the Caretta-Caretta sea turtle, so the stay at the beach is allowed until sunset. Close by is the small and quiet Porto Roma beach, with rich sand, clear waters, umbrellas, sun beds, cafe and taverns.

Alternatively you will head to Limnionas beach, on the west side of the island, about 30 kilometers from the city. A rocky bay surrounded by pine trees is more of a lake than a beach and is an ideal spot for sunset views.
